Teen Tuesday!!! (Vanessa)

Hi dear humans.

I think I'm hyper... did you notice by my first sentence?
Happy Teen Tuesday. I'm kinda late... I have 30 minutes to post this! But I just remembered.
So anyway, what's been up with you guys's reading?
In the past week I haven't read much. I think its because I don't spend half of my day riding subways and buses (like I did when I visited in Canada) but I finished The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen. It was great. It is certified an AWESOME. Of course, it got 5 stars. (It didn't make my "favorite" list, sadly... for reasons I will post on my review--when I get to it--with a MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS warning).
Other than that, I started Lost It by Kristen Tracy and it had me laughing quite a lot... a record of about 4 LMAOs which is so unlikely from a book. I seldom laugh, even when authors are trying to be funny (I'm rather weird). But I stopped reading it to read Violet on the Runway by Melissa Walker. I'm reading this book because Hope recommended it and also because I have to review it for Like OMG Teens Read Newsletter.
Let me tell you guys a little bit about that. Like OMG Teens Read Message Board (likeomgteensread.com, you know, the site I've been preaching for like forever) has gotten together five people: Brenna, Chelsie, Hope, Meaghan, and me to put together a newsletter. The newsletter is featuring the following: young adult literature news, reviews, a quote of the month, LOTR current Book of the Month's coverage, books turned into movies updates and reviews, Author of the Month, author interviews, a list of books coming out in the next month, (hopefully soon) contests, and a lot more. So basically we just report and put on our Wordpress site likeomgteensread.wordpress.com and if you'd like you can subscribe to our monthly issues, you can read, talk about them, etc. It's so far really fun to write (well at least for me, I don't know about the rest of the troop). Our first issue will be available August 31, 2008. Tune in for it!
In other news, I ordered a lot of books from Amazon before I left to Canada, and came home to find them, beautiful. Except for that I got Escapement by Jay Lake instead of The Elite by Jennifer Banash by mistake, and I ordered Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty NEW and got it all bended and the pages are dirty from use. So I have to complain about both of those. Don't you hate it when that happens?
Other than that I haven't read anything else. I have to say though... my "library" of just 80 books has filled up my shelf. I need to buy a shelf to put all my books from now on... take a look at my library... ahh, I love to look up and see my beautiful books.
I'll leave you guys with that... I'm officially late... its 12:05:07.

Lot's of Reading Done (Kelsey)

I've read a lot of books this past week, which is really good for me since sometimes I don't even read a book in a week. Here are the books I've read in order:

1-The Big Game of Everything by Chris Lynch
2-Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lynn Childs
3-Alpha Dog by Jennifer Ziegler
4-Read My Lips by Teri Brown
5-Switch by Carol Snow
6-Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer
(All the reviews are on my blog except Breaking Dawn)

This is what I like best about the books above:

Best Character: Bella Swan and Edward Cullen but he's not the main character . . . in Breaking Dawn
Best Plot: Read My Lips
Best Setting: Oh. My. Gods.
Best Writing: Breaking Dawn

Winning Book-Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.

Breaking Dawn is such an unexpected, incredible, fantastic, breathtaking (I could go on forever) book it's amazing . . .

Now what I plan on reading this week:

I think I'll be starting Saving Zoe by Alyson Noel today or maybe Gingerbread by Rachel Cohn, I'm not sure yet. I still have to read all the other books that were on my other post and I just might finish those this week. Actually I'm sure I'll be finishing those books this week, and then I'll need more . . . I guess I should pressure my dad into ordering those books we've been planning on since the beginning of the summer or even before that. But I really want to get Generation Dead by Daniel Waters, Confessions of a Triple Shot Betty by Jody Gehrmann and Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson and I really want to start the Violet series by Melissa Walker so I want to order those also. I'm also getting Bad Girls by Alex McAuley in Bookmooch soon. I've been wanting to read a book by Alex McAuley forever but of course my libraries i live by don't have it and I've been to scared that I'd not like his(her?) writing so I haven't bought it but I'm so happy finaling getting this book. It sounds really interesting, all though I rather of gotten Oblivion Road to read first but oh, well.

Now I have to go so I can go see Mamma Mia! today . . .

Not Too Much New Stuff for Me.

Yeah. I haven't read a lot this week. I'm still finishing Breaking Dawn. I'm reading it slow on purpose... my mom wants to read it also and we only have one copy of the book. It's funny to see her waiting to read it. :p (You know I love you mom, since you're probably reading this!) So, I have about two hundred pages left to read of Breaking Dawn. Then the Twilight series shall be over. :( But then we get to look forward to Midnight Sun, which I honestly cannot wait to read.

And, oh my gosh, I found this quote the other day, and I just love it: I never got my letter from Hogwarts, so I'm moving to Forks to live with the Cullens. :D haha. I love it.

I got the book 100 Girls in the mail to review for Pulse It. I don't know if I'm going to like it or not - it's a graphic novel, and I've never read one of those before. I've never been much of a comic book person either. So it should be interesting.

Also, Melissa Walker's Violet in Private was released today! It is amazing -- if you haven't read the Violet series yet, you really should. They are amazing. I'm holding a contest right now for a signed copy of Violet in Private, so make sure you go to my blog and check that out! Later this week, there will also be an interview and guest bog with Melissa Walker. :]

And that's all I have for you today. I apologize for being so boring... and now I'm going to get back to reading. :D

hope.

Finales

So, I finished Breaking Dawn this weekend, as I'm sure many of you did. There's a review and discussion on my blog, as I'm sure there are many other blogs, but that's not what I want to talk about today. Reading Breaking Dawn drudged up a lot of feelings and memories of reading the final Harry Potter book around this time last year. It got me thinking about a lot of other final books in popular series. I always go into them excited and pumped up, caught up in the story, but find myself a little sad that everything is changing. But that feeling is sort of lost as I get caught up in the suspense and climax....only to return again as the ending unfolds.

Reliving these experiences with Breaking Dawn has inspired me to finish The Sweet Far Thing. I know, you must be thinking, "Are you a newcomer to the series?" No, I am not. I pre-ordered my first edition copy of A Great and Terrible Beauty back in 2003-ish, and have been an avid reader all along. But when December rolled around last year, and The Sweet Far Thing was released, I bought it, read the first chapter....and then life got in the way. I did my major research project, reviewed some other books, had my wisdom teeth pulled, put TSFT on my shelf and completely forgot! But now I really would like to finish it. If I can only find the time...

What are some of your favorite series enders?

I'm Late, I'm Late, I'm Late [Chelsie]

Posting on Monday morning, right before leaving to go to driver's ed and to work and then to a friend's house...

I won't have time to post tomorrow. And I have some things to share.

My reading week has been decent. I read and finished The Elite (which reminds me that I have to get a review up). I am also reading a book called What the Storyteller Brings by Robyn Demby. For a book with very little (if any) professional editing, I am actually thinking it was written very well.

But of course, the highlight of my reading week was the Breaking Dawn release party, and then the weekend where I couldn't stop reading it.

You can see my post here with a couple pictures. And a few random thoughts.

I apologize for such a short and boring post today, but... I really do have to get going or else my mom will be late for work. =P

Happy Posting!
